From our published rates and the work on your property, by service. Mowing is priced from your mowable lawn, measured from an aerial photo and read off the rate table. Seasonal Care and landscaping are priced from the actual work: the area or quantity (beds, shrubs, feet of rut), its condition (kept up or overgrown, light or heavy debris), the materials and who supplies them, access, and whether anything is hauled away. Every rate is on the price list, so you can check the math before you ever call us. See the full price list → What the words mean →
Weekly mowing includes the cut, ordinary trimming around accessible edges and obstacles, maintenance of defined edges, and blowing adjoining hard surfaces clean. Anything outside the normal mowing visit is discussed before it is added.
Yes. One-time mowing works well before a party, after a vacation, while your mower is down, or when the lawn gets away from you. One-time visits fit around weekly routes, so peak-season availability can be limited.
They are the columns on the one-time mowing table, and they come from grass height, because that is what changes the work. Beds use the same idea, for weeds rather than grass.
Every word on the rate tables is defined once, with its numbers, on the definitions page. What the words mean →
No. Weekly mowing is built around a consistent route day from April through October. If you do not need weekly service, one-time mowing is available separately when route space allows.
Standard mowing uses grasscycling when lawn conditions allow: the clippings stay on the lawn, free, and feed it. That is what we recommend. There are three paid alternatives, and each one is on the published price list: collect and pile (where you want them, on your property), collect and bag (the bags stay with you), or bag and take away (loaded up, driven off and unloaded at our place). Whichever you pick is priced before you request service and is part of your quoted price, never added afterward. The four options, defined →
Full-Season Prepay covers the April–October weekly mowing season at the season price: 10% off if you reserve by February 28, 5% after. It is not a promise of a specific number of cuts. Growth, weather, ground conditions, and safety determine when mowing is appropriate. If the season delivers fewer visits than budgeted, we refund the difference at the rate you paid. The first ten weekly mowing routes keep the Founding Ten rate for the whole 2027 season. It ends when the tenth route is confirmed, not on a date. That rate is already the deepest rate and does not stack a prepay discount. The full rate table, including prepay totals, is on the price list.
Rain, saturated ground, or unsafe conditions can shift the regular service day. We’ll give you a heads-up rather than damage the lawn or rush unsafe work.
We need a safe, legal place for the truck and trailer near the property and a clear path to the work area. Tell us about narrow gates, pets, locks, steep areas, or parking limits when you request service.
Yes. If you already have a Plant By Number garden design, we can handle bed prep, numbered layout, planting, edging, mulch, and cleanup. They design it. We install it.
No. We're a lawn and landscaping crew, not a tree service. Branches and storm debris already on the ground, yes: we clear them, and hauling is added by the trailer load at $75 a load. Standing trees, limbing, or anything overhead needs an arborist, and we're happy to say so up front rather than improvise with your trees.
Payment is due when the work is completed. Venmo, @ridgetraillandscaping, is the easy way; if you need another way to pay, email us. Once your day is confirmed we send an invoice, or pay any time before that if you'd like. Jobs over $1,000 take one-third up front; nothing smaller asks for anything before the work is done. Your request page spells out the exact numbers for your job, and the deposit comes off what you owe at the end. The total is the price of the work you approved; it changes only if you approve added work.
Enter your address, pick your services, and send the request from that page; it asks only for your name, a number to text, an email as backup, and anything we should know about access. Ridge Trail texts you to confirm a day and time. A weekly route spot or one-time date is not reserved until we confirm it, and nothing is due before then. Check that we serve your town →
Public records and public data, all of it free for you to look at yourself. Your address is placed on the map by Mapbox. Your lot lines come from the New York State tax parcel map. The lawn, bed and tree-canopy areas are read from New York State aerial photography. An AI vision model does that reading, which is why you can correct the acreage yourself if it read your lawn wrong. Building footprints come from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors). The ground slope and your elevation above sea level are measured from United States Geological Survey elevation data. Your soil type comes from the USDA soil survey, the same one every county extension office uses. The mowing season dates and frost dates come from NOAA’s daily weather-station records at the station nearest your address; for much of our service area that is the Colden station itself.
It is a measurement, not a site visit. If we read your lawn larger or smaller than it really is, adjust it on the pricing page and the price moves with it. The page also says how confident that reading was. A low reading means the photo could not separate lawn from tree canopy or see the beds clearly; check the outline and the bed size before you send a request, because everything on the page is priced at those numbers. On a low reading the page asks you to confirm both numbers before the request goes. If the space doesn’t match what was entered, we remeasure on site, run the same calculator again, and you see the corrected price before anything starts. If it’s not a fit, no hard feelings.
